Diane Halfin’s start in life was far from ordinary – born in Belgium, she was brought into this world less than a year after her mother was released from the terrors of World War II. After growing up in multiple countries across Europe, Diane met and fall in love with German Prince Egon von Furstenberg – they met while studying at the University of Geneva. The couple tied the knot in 1970, and Diane went on to have a wonderful career in the fashion industry.
However, as her career went from strength to strength, her marriage to Furstenburg was deteriorating. The two divorced in 1983 but remained amicable for the sake of their two children. Shortly after the divorce, Diane emigrated to New York to build her own fashion empire. She currently resides as a US citizen.
