[post_page_title]Billie Jean King[/post_page_title]
This tennis legend won 12 Grand Slam singles and is known for her activism as much as her game. She fought for gender pay equality, an end to discrimination and acceptance of all and even faced Bobby Riggs in the “Battle of the Sexes,” winning 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
She is also known for her very public coming out, when her partner filed a palimony suit against her. As great of a champion as she was, some would say it was activism that really made Billie Jean King a legend.
