[post_page_title]Ann Meyers Drysdale[/post_page_title]
Ann Meyers Drysdale currently serves as the color analyst for the Phoenix Suns. But before she joined the broadcast booth, Drysdale became the first woman to be signed to an athletic scholarship at the University of California LA.
She was also the no. 1 pick in the WBC (which doesn’t exist anymore) and led the first US Women’s Olympic basketball team to a silver medal in 1976. But most importantly, Ann Meyers Drysdale was the first and only female to ever sign with an NBA team. In 1979, Drysdale signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers as a free agent.
