Buckingham Palace hasn’t always been the headquarters of the Royal family, but when Queen Victoria succeeded the throne, she chose to live there permanently. The current Queen Elizabeth II does not permanently reside in the famous palace.
But she does often go there on official Royal business and is required to be there on certain formal occasions. Of course, this is one of London’s most famous landmarks. It is next to all the sights London is known for, such as the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
