Archeologists find 4,500-year-old ramp apparently used to build the Giza Pyramids

Yannis Gourdon, the co-director of the Hatnub exploration mission, spoke to Live Science about the discovery. He described the ramp and noted that it would have been hugely beneficial in aiding the Ancient Egyptians and their transportation.

This is because the main system was made from a “central ramp flanked by two staircases.” The ramp was carved from the rock and the desert sand and would have allowed the workers to move the stone from the quarry with ease. But how would it have worked?
