The two ended up getting married two years later in Bucharest, the capital of Romania.
Once the communist government in that country was dismantled Nadia and Bart were welcomed like royal visiting heads of state. The fact that she had escaped the country did not seem to bother the new Romanian government one bit. In fact, the couple were allowed to use the new Romanian Parliament building for their wedding location.
