Former player and head coach Wayne Gretzky played twenty seasons of professional hockey for the NHL. He is one of the highest scoring players the league has ever seen and earned the nickname “The Great One” by a number of hockey analysts. He retired in 1999 and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He became the part-owner and head coach for the Phoenix Coyotes until the franchise’s bankruptcy forced the MVP to give up his ownership share.
