Back in the 50s, the NBA was still figuring itself out, and so were its players. George Mikan was incredibly influential in that regard, using the hook shot before it became popular, and setting an example for what a big man should look like in the league. Throughout his time on the Minneapolis Lakers, he averaged an impressive 23 points and 13 rebounds, and helped the team win a total of five championships, setting a precedent for future Laker teams to follow suit.
