With few other alternatives, Reeves suited up and took on his new persona. The actor portrayed Superman for six seasons but ultimately quit the role just months before his passing. It hadn’t turned him into a superstar, and perhaps that was due to the fact he was ‘slumming’ it on television when he wanted to be in movies. While his career hadn’t been going how he’d have liked, something else worried him.
