The police investigated the shooting and determined it was self-inflicted, but not everyone agreed. A private detective took a look at Reeves’ case and found enough evidence to suggest someone else could have done it.
Unfortunately, the private eye never managed to prove it, and as far as the record book goes, Reeves did it himself. He had reportedly been drinking, and there were several bullets found in his room. This was enough to convince the police he had done it himself, but for Reeves’ family, the issue remains a mystery.
