During the earlier era of the NBA, Oscar Roberston was one of the standouts. In his 14 years as a professional, he was named in the All-Star lineup 12 times. He retired as one of the leagues highest scoring guards, but it’s what he did when off the court that makes him truly remarkable.

Robertson made it his ambition to make sure African Americans had access to affordable housing in Indianapolis. For his contributions to making that happen, Robertson received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Cincinnati.
