Inside the bunker and under a blanket of decades-old dust, there were numerous untouched items such as milk bottles. It was an astounding find for the pupils of the school! Perhaps the most amazing moment for the pupils was after running an electrical extension down to the shelter.
A caretaker Chris flicked on the switch and found the original bulb could still work. How incredible would that be?! After restoring the shelter, they now use it as educational means of really getting a feel of what it may have been like during WW2.
