The shelters discovered by Simon and others across Britain are a wonderful find. They not only give you a real sense of how it must have felt to take cover from the air raids that took place, but they demonstrate the great lengths that the citizens of the war went to in order to protect themselves and their country.
With there likely more that have still not been found, it’s incredible to think there are still lots of little aluminum time capsules waiting to be unearthed and uncovered.
