In 2014, Farrington was involved in a snowboarding accident, after she failed to land a frontside 360 jump. Although she was not seriously injured, Farrington had an MRI scan to make sure. From this scan, doctors noted that she was born with congenital cervical stenosis – a lifelong spine condition. Just a few months later, Farrington announced her retirement from competitive snowboarding but hasn’t left the world altogether. She is now working as a snowsports commentator and will do so at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
