As a result of his lackluster performance and injury, Oher was let go from his contract with the Titans in February of 2015. In March, he would go on to sign with the Carolina Panthers – entering into a 2-year contract that would net him 7 million dollars.
Despite his tarnished reputation, the Panthers made it clear that they believed Oher would find success with them, announcing their intention to have him play as a starting left tackle.
