Having played an excellent season of football with the Panthers and making it to the Superbowl, it was clear that Oher was sticking around. He agreed with the Panthers to extend his contract for another three years, and would earn $21.6 million in return.
However, this arrangement that seemed so good for everyone would not last for long. In November of 2016, Oher suffered a concussion during a game, and as such was placed on reserve so that he could have time to heal.
