What diehard Storage Wars fans might not know is that Sheets’ $300,000 jackpot wasn’t the biggest in the show’s history – it was just the biggest to make it to air. In 2011, a buyer used American Auctioneers to bid $1,000 on a storage unit.
That unit ended up containing golden Spanish pieces of eight coins from the 16th and 19th centuries. It was worth just over half a million dollars, but the episode was never aired because the buyer wanted to remain anonymous. We can see why!
