Getting a TV license is another lawful regulation that the Royal Family are exempt from. In British law, anyone who purchases a TV and connects to national TV waves is also required to purchase a TV license.
This is usually bought annually for around £150, which is about $194. Anyone who fails to get a license can get fined thousands. However, the royal household is reportedly not required to pay their annual bill, and some people are furious about it.
