There have been so many versions of Friday Night Lights that it’s hard to keep count. First, it’s a true story. Then someone wrote a book about it. Then someone made a film about the book about the real team, and eventually it was turned into a TV show. But we’re focused on the film here. In the movie there is a certain scene showing the clock running out right after an incomplete pass is thrown. But in reality, according to the rules the clock stops after an incomplete pass. Another mistake (and spoiler alert): in movie the Permian Panthers lose to Dallas Carter in the Finals, in reality they lost in the semis. Just a tad more dramatic than real life.
