The original novel that Gone with the Wind was based on went through several name changes before it was published.

Baa! Baa! Black Sheep

Margaret Mitchell, the author, had considered a whole bunch of other names to give to her story. Running titles included ‘Baa! Baa! Black Sheep,’ ‘Tomorrow Is Another Day,’ ‘Bugles Sang True,’ and ‘Tote the Weary Load.’ Mitchell got the name from a line in an Ernest Dowson poem titled Cynara. The line read “I have forgot much Cynara! Gone with the wind.”
