Here’s another feud that New Yorkers will be especially partial to, specifically Yankee fans. Let’s just say that former Yankee manager Billy Martin was a bit of a hot head, and Steinbrenner was, well, not your typical sports owner.
The feud between the two was so topsy turvy that Steinbrenner both hired and fired Martin a total of five times! That right there should give you an inkling regarding how crazy and complex their relationship was.

Not only was this occurrence awkward to witness back in year 2000, it has certainly not aged well in the modern climate we live in today.
Let’s just say that former Atlanta Braves closer John Rocker had an infamous rant where he made fun of New York, the LGBT community, foreigners, and a few other demographics. It was met with a lot of backlash (as it should have been), and we’re not surprised that his popularity took a huge dip after that.
