Buddy Holly was born in Texas during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Times were hard for Buddy and his family, but they made the best out of the situation. In fact, most of the members of Buddy’s immediate family were musicians of some type, finding it lifted them up spiritually.
Buddy in particular was inspired by the rhythm and blues he would hear around the city, and after deciding to pursue music as a full-time career, he found himself opening up the stage from Elvis Presley in 1955.
