It all began on Saturday, March 23 when news broke out that the 55-year-old actor had applied for a marriage license with his girlfriend Erika Koike before getting spontaneously hitched in Las Vegas. A video of the couple on their ‘wedding day’ soon surfaced, showing a mumbling Cage raising his voice at his soon-to-be wife at a Vegas courthouse at around 11 in the morning.

In the clip, the movie star, who appeared to have had a few drinks, was yelling at Koike while telling bystanders that she only wanted to marry him for his money and claiming that she had dated a criminal. “I’m not doing it,” he told his girlfriend repeatedly, to which she replied, “I never asked you to.” To that, Cage reluctantly told her, “Come on, let’s go.”
