Mike is one of the most renowned hockey players to ever grace Olympic ice. During the 1980 Olympic games, Mike and lead the United States hockey team to a crushing victory against the Soviet Union – a move that was named ‘miracle on ice’ thereafter.
He has since retired and took up the position of Director of Special Outreach for Boston University, his alma mater. In the 2002 games, Mike and his fellow hockey team came back to the Olympic sphere to light the cauldron during the opening ceremony.
