She holds 18 Olympic gold medals. She held the title of the most gold medals for either gender for 48 years! Larisa won 14 individual gold medals and four All-Around team gold medals. Upon retiring from gymnastics, Larisa turned her experience into a coaching position for the gymnastics team of the Soviet Union. It was Larisa who lead the team to gold for three consecutive Olympic games.
