Cathy Freeman is an Australian track and field sprinter. She is the first person of Aboriginal heritage to ever place in the Commonwealth Games – a series of games for countries in the British Commonwealth.
However, perhaps most importantly, she is the recipient of 10 medals which she won for her home country Australia on the international stage. Since coming back to Australia, Cathy has founded the Indigenous Education Foundation, helping Aborigines receive an education.
