Laurie Hernandez had previously committed to attend the University of Florida in 2014 in order to compete on the Florida Gators gymnastics team.
However she decided to compete in the Olympics instead, and that decision certainly paid off. After the Olympics, Laurie competed on the television series Dancing with the Stars on season 23 and became the youngest winner of the show to date. Laurie also wrote a book called I Got This: To Gold and Beyond and became a New York Times Best Selling Auther.
