Although the group did successfully get Sam into the air by drone, they didn’t manage to do it on their first attempt. The reason behind making the human flying drone was because nowhere else in the world sold one, so these guys created their own.

Connecting a bunch of drones together was more difficult than the group had initially thought, and on one of their test flights the contraption ended up crashing. Thankfully they had enough sense to test their new drone before strapping a person to it.
