Allison Stokke grew up in beautiful Newport Beach, California, as a member of a sports obsessed family. Her brother was a national level gymnast, but Allison found her athletic calling in pole vaulting. Even breaking her leg in high school didn’t hold her back, and her vaults were the best ever achieved by an American in her age group.

She went on to receive an athletic scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley, where she studied sociology while continuing her pole vaulting career.
