Eddie did not like that another affair was about to take over his life again, so he decided he needed to clear things up. After they exposed his relationship with Shay, he sued them for defamation.

This wasn’t necessarily because the affair didn’t happen, but because he claimed he had not seen Shay and Rimes simultaneously. Cibrian stated that since separating from Glanvillie, he has only had a romantic relationship with Rimes. He did not, however, deny or confirm that he’d been involved with Shay while he was married.
