Bullock had actually filmed Love Potion No. 9 in 1990, but it wasn’t released until two years later. What didn’t have a time delay on it, however, was her love for her co-star. Appearing opposite Tate Donovan, sparks soon began flying both on- and off-screen. Don’t be fooled, though – it was kind of one-sided to start with.
“I chased him like a dog,” Bullock admitted, saying she hounded him until he finally noticed her. When he did, they embarked on a four-year romance that ended, tragically, in heartbreak. “I adored Tate so much,” she said years later, voice still a little shaky. She was closer to him than anyone else in her life, and no one meant more – and yet it ended.
