College sports is a bubble within itself, and it can be easy to get caught up in the hype. In the 2006 NCAA Tournament, Tyrus Thomas made a lot of noise when he led LSU past Texas to the Final Four.
Averaging nearly a double-double and 3 blocks a game, scouts were impressed by his energy and defensive prowess, and Thomas was drafted 4th by the Blazers (and then traded to the Bulls). But while his energy level in college yielded good results, the NBA proved to be a tougher road for him.
