Reflecting back on Seafair’s purchase, Leno said there were two main reasons he decided to buy the place. The first one was the fact he still had family on the East Coast, and hoped to invite them over a little more now that he was retired from The Tonight Show’s daily grind.

Leno grew up in Andover, Massachusetts, just two hours away from his new home. “When I was doing The Tonight Show I was always too busy,” he said. As for the second reason, it involved his wife Mavis.
