It’s not just small cats who know how to use their camouflage. It turns out that big cats have become masters of staying hidden – even when they are just feet away from their prey. So how do they do it? Leopards are covered in spots, known as rosettes.
These help to break up the outline of the cat and make it harder for prey to spot them. Plus, the colors mean that leopards can blend into the shadows and light regardless of where they are in the grass.
