There are many ways one can deal with grief, but one thing this story can teach us is the importance of imagination and kindness. Little Ella didn’t think too rationally about where her mother had gone. She simply acted with her heart and decided she wanted to send her mom a greeting.
Thanks to her imagination and the kindness of a complete stranger at the postal office, her first mother’s day without her mother physically by her side became a cause for happy tears instead of just sad ones.
