The team behind this research are aware that their research is not done just yet. In fact, they have collected so much data from their laser imaging and their survey that they believe it would take a huge amount of time to go through it and come to a definitive conclusion.

During an interview with National Geographic, Estrada-Belli said researchers will need 100 years to go through all of the data to truly understand what they were seeing. So, we might just have to wait to fully understand what these 60,000 structures really mean for this period of history.
