These NFL legends were never crowned champions

The Super Bowl. The roar of the crowds. One of the last things left in the United States which can truly united the country.
For the city hosting the big game, it is a chance to inject vast amounts of revenue into the state or city’s budget. For the fans, it is a feeling of pride and joy that their city or state is being featured in one of the largest sporting events in the world.

Meanwhile, for the teams, it is a feeling of pride, that after all of their hard work throughout the season and even during the off-season, what they have been working for is about to pay off. The nerves are also running high as well, fearing that they might let down teammates, fans, and sponsors.
For the players, it is the chance to show the world that you are the greatest. That your team is the greatest. Football players are perhaps the most physically perfect human specimens in the planet, and this is the crunch time.
However, not everyone gets their time to shine under the spotlights of whichever NFL stadium the Super Bowl is being held in. They spend their careers being the best in their position, breaking record after record, yet never winning a Super Bowl.
Athletes such as Tony Gonzales, Cris Carter, Randy Moss, and Eric Dickerson are all greats of the game, yet they do not have a superbowl ring to show for it.
Maybe the team chemistry has never been right, or perhaps they simply wish to remain big fish in small ponds, making sure to outshine the rest of their teammates and be stars in their town.
Whatever the reason, these men and many more like them were for a very long time at the top of their game but were never able to quite make it to the Super Bowl.

The 14-time Pro Bowler came close to wrapping up a 17-year career without winning a single playoff game, but that drought came to an end in 2012, when the Falcons beat the Seattle Seahawks. Unfortunately for Gonzalez, he would miss out on a chance at the Super Bowl after Atlanta lost to the 49ers. Still, Gonzalez is considered one of the greatest tight ends to ever play in the league. He is still second on the all-time NFL receptions leaders list and fifth on the receiving yards list. He scored 111 touchdowns throughout his tenure in the NFL.
