When researching gorillas for his role in the action blockbuster, Rampage, The Rock got a closer to them than he might have ever imagined. Johnson’s role in Rampage was that of a primatologist, trying to stop poaching.

Off screen, The Rock met with Dian Fossey, the founder of a research facility and he mentioned on social media that his eyes had been opened. Fossey is presenting Johnson with a piece of a poacher’s snare that had trapped a gorilla before it was set free by an anti-poaching unit in Africa.
