Keeping spirits high during difficult times is important, and perhaps that’s why this card giver thought this cheerful card (that’s obviously meant for a birthday) would be a good choice for her friend. But we can’t help but think the person receiving it wasn’t sure how to react.
The exclamation mark, the cake, the candles – it’s all a little too happy for something as serious as brain surgery. Maybe someone should have told this friend a get well soon card would have been just fine.
