Olivia Newton-John might have only had two film roles in the 1970s, but she played the lead in both. As well as playing Olivia in the musical film “Toomorrow,” she also played Sandy in the acclaimed rom-com “Grease.”

The iconic role came a few years after John’s musical career starting seeing success in the US. Her fifth album reached number one on the Billboard 200 the same year she managed fourth place in the Eurovision Song Contest. “Have You Never Been Mellow,” the follow-up effort, managed the same feat.
