Susan Anton first experienced what it was like to be in the limelight when she competed in the Miss Redlands and Miss California beauty pageants. This exposure gave her the chance to work on numerous commercials, including the hugely famous Muriel Cigar commercial.

From there, her acting career spiralled, and the ‘70s gave her the chance to show off her talents. Most notably, she appeared on the popular talk show, The Merv Griffin Show. In 1978, she was also given her own variety show alongside the country singer, Mel Tillis.
