Deidre Hall actually had dreams of being a psychologist before she switched paths. The world of acting was calling her, and she decided to give it a go.

She landed one of her first roles in the 1970s when she took on the character of Electra Woman in the superhero show, Electra Woman and the Dyna Girl. By the time 1976 came around, she was offered the chance to take on a brand new character in the popular soap opera, Days of Our Lives. She soon became Dr. Marlena Evans.
