If you’re a baseball fan, odds are you’ve heard the tale of Babe Ruth’s called shot during Game 3 of the World Series in 1932. The Yankees were facing the Cubs, it was a tied game in the top of the fifth inning. As the story goes, The Bambino was being heckled by Cubs players and he would respond with gestures of his own. With a 2-2 count, Ruth turned towards them and pointed two fingers to center field. He then hit a home run in that direction. The jersey he was wearing when he warned the Cubs of what’s to come sold for $940,000 in 2005.
