[post_page_title]Paul Henderson 1972 jersey[/post_page_title]
Paul Henderson is a national hero in Canada. The hockey legend wore this jersey in 1972, when Canada played in the Summit Series against the USSR. The two countries played an eight game series, and at one point the Soviet Union was leading Canada 3-1-1. But the Canadians roared back to win the last three games, and Henderson scored in every one of those three matches. His final goal of the series came 34 seconds before the end of game 8, and won the game, and series, for the Canadians. The jersey was sold for $1.27 million in 2010, and is marked in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most expensive hockey jersey ever sold in an auction.
