In November, 2016, a 1952 Mickey Mantle Topps card sold for more than a million dollars, $1.3 million to be exact. Only one other baseball card in history has fetched more than a million. During that 1952 season, Mantle’s first full season in New York, he hit .311/.394/.530 for the Yankees, while tallying 94 runs, 171 hits and 85 runs batted in with 23 home runs. The card was in great condition when it was sold, Professional Sports Authenticator gave it an 8.5 out of 10 grade.
