SOLD: The most expensive sports memorabilia to be auctioned off

[post_page_title]James Naismith’s original rules of basketball[/post_page_title]
Naismith’s original rules of the game were the top selling sports item, worth $4.3 million, until the following item on our list sold in 2012. The rules, written by the Canadian while coming up with a game that can be played indoors during the Massachusetts winter months, were written in 1891 and consist of 13 rules. Some of them changed overtime, but the basics still remain. James Naismith is considered the outright inventor of the game of basketball.
