At the beginning of 2016, more than 60 years after the card entered circulation, a 1955 Topps Roberto Clemente rookie card was sold for $478,000. The card sold had a grade PSA 9, without qualifiers. In 1955, his rookie year, Clemente appeared in 124 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He tallied 121 hits, 48 runs and 47 runs batted in. He hit .255/.284/.382 with five home runs and 23 doubles that year.
