During the first inning of a Yankees game against the Cleveland Indians in 1997, David Wells wore a 1930s hat that was once owned and worn by Yankees legend Babe Ruth. Back then, Wells had paid $35,000 for the cap. But he would later go on to sell the cap in 2012 for $537,278 to raise money to renovate the field at his San Diego High School.
