SOLD: The most expensive sports memorabilia to be auctioned off

[post_page_title]David Wells’ Babe Ruth hat [/post_page_title]
During the first inning of a Yankees game against the Cleveland Indians in 1997, David Wells wore a 1930s hat that was once owned and worn by Yankees legend Babe Ruth. Back then, Wells had paid $35,000 for the cap. But he would later go on to sell the cap in 2012 for $537,278 to raise money to renovate the field at his San Diego High School. It was sold at auction along with Ruth’s 1920 jersey, which you’ll find later on this list.
