He said he just wanted to take a break, but many believe that he was forced to leave against his will. The belief is that NBA commissioner David Stern forced Jordan to take a break as punishment for Jordan’s alleged gambling addiction. It hasn’t been proven, but it certainly makes more sense than his desire to play baseball.
