Derek Fisher was a teammate of Matt Barnes, and he was thought to be a reason for the breaking of Barnes’ marriage to Govan. The rumors were that Govan and Fisher had an affair, and that was the cause of the tension between Barnes and them.
Govan fought back after those rumors surfaced though, and she filed a lawsuit against Barnes. She was claiming that Barnes had defamed her during their break-up after he accused Govan of stealing money from him while they were still married.
